Depot Bookstore


The Depot Bookstore is the Northwest Railway Museum's store specializing in "almost everything train" including railroad history publications, collectibles, clothing, and novelties.   Members of the Northwest Railway Museum receive a 10% discount on purchases.

The Depot Bookstore is open Thursday - Monday from 10:15 AM - 5 PM all year and seven days per week from April 'til October.  The Depot Bookstore is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.

Telephone and mail orders are accepted and if you are looking for something unusual or unique, please ask and the staff will try to find it for you. RR Hat

The well-dressed are often seen in the Snoqualmie Valley Railroad hat.  It is made from a blue and green cotton blend with a sewn patch featuring the Snoqualmie Valley Railroad waterfall logo in green, blue and red.  An adjustable cloth strap allows it to fit a wide range of sizes. $12.95 


This work published by Washington State University in Pullman chronicles the construction of railroads in the Seattle area, up to the arrival of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific in 1911.  It includes many of the exciting political and financial shenanigans that helped shape our region.  Orphan Road: the Railroad Comes to Seattle, 1853 - 1911 by Kurt E. Depot Notecard

Rail Tails is a series collected and edited by Ruth Eckes.  Ruth was an operator for the Northern Pacific Railway beginning in 1944.  She worked many  locations including Kanaskat and Snoqualmie.  Her books are an anthology of real railway stories - an oral history - about what it was like to work for the railway.  Whistles In The Night is the third book in the series and is offered for $15.95  Also available is Rail Tales, the first in the series, Blow the Whistle Softly, the second and Call of the Rails, the fourth.

Several years ago, Pat Dugan of Woodinville painted a wonderful watercolor of the Snoqualmie Depot.  Now this image is available on a note card (blank inside) and as a pre-matted 8x10 inch print suitable for framing.  The note card is offered at $2.50 (includes the envelope) and the print retails for $35.00  



RR Mug

The Snoqualmie Valley Railroad coffee mug is a 12 oz ceramic cup incorporating a package of Seattle's Best Coffee.  The reverse side of the mug features the Northwest Railway Museum logo.  Coffee has long been synonymous with the long hours associated with working on the railroad.  Caboose stove everywhere once emanated the wondrous aroma of fresh brewed coffee.  Packaged for gift giving, this wonderful combination is $12.95

Adams and Westlake has been synonymous with railroad switchman's kerosene lanterns for many years.  The Northwest Railway Museum is pleased to present this Adlake Kero make especially for the Museum's railroad.  The top is embossed for the "Snoqualmie Valley RR" .  This lantern is not a reproduction: Adlake Kero lanterns have remained in continuous production since they were introduced shortly after the turn of the century.  The Depot Bookstore is pleased to offer the Adlake Kero for $89.95
